March 2007 saw Ros and Kevin purchasing "Noonameena", a Main Creek homestead which will eventually become their retirement home. This is a five bedroom country home with 3 queen rooms and two more bedrooms with just one single bed in each. (ideal for independent sleeping space.) A quality Moran day night divan opens to a comfortable double bed. Additionally Kev. has built two "toddlers" beds (ideal for 2-6 year olds) A porta cot is also available.
There are two totally separate living areas at each end of this spacious
dwelling (log fires in each), kitchen,
dining, (reverse cycle air conditioning) bathroom (shower and bath) two separate toilets and
already Kev and Ros have created yet another of Yeranda's well known outdoors showers.
Expansive verandas on three sides with ample outdoors furniture plus
a magnificent open deck on the
east side make this the ideal retreat for anyone looking
to get away for a short break.
For
the amateur astronomers...you will be hard pushed to find skies so clear when
this close to the major cities of Newcastle and Maitland. Plenty of space to set up your
telescopes and enjoy the heavens! Noonameena is so easy to find...529 Main
Creek Road; just in on the left before crossing Gam's Bridge. If you reach the
end of the sealed , bitumen road you have gone too far!!!! There is mobile
phone reception from this property for those who need to stay in touch with the
outside world! Please note tho that Voda phones do NOT work here. TV, DVD and
stereo systems are provided at Noonameena but for those who want some
exercise the pleasant walks along the creek will envigorate!
Noonameena is the ideal destination for friends from different areas to meet and spend time together. For example it is too far to drive from Sydney to Tamworth for just a weekend but Tamworth folk...why not tee up with your Sydney mates or relatives and meet mid way? You could not find a better spot and there are, locally, plenty of things to see and do or just sit on Noonameenas beautiful deck or on the verandas and enjoy a local wine or cuppa or throw a frisbee in the paddock.
