Kalimna
Kalimna cottage has been welcoming guests for over 20 years and some return two to three times a year. Why does this happen? Because the seclusion and privacy of Kalimna allows for total relaxation in a beautiful bush setting and an escape from the hustle and bustle of work and city life. No mobile or TV reception - just peace and quiet. It's the perfect place for a romantic getaway.
Kalimna is built of rock and timber with a queen sized bedroom and open kitchen and living space. The cottage was designed to meet Australian Standards for mobility limitations so the bathroom has ample space for wheelchair movement and numerous grab rails.
The cottage is cosy in winter, being fully insulated, with a very efficient slow combustion heater. It is solar powered for lighting and refrigeration with gas used for cooking and hot water. There is a small library of books and guests are welcome to bring their own to exchange with others in the collection. The cottage also has a CD player stereo with aux lead and bluetooth plus a range of games to pass the time.
The veranda is a great place to sit and take in the view or watch the birds as they drink and bathe at the bird baths. A gas bbq and outdoor fireplace is provided for cooking and general relaxation. Firewood is provided, along with kindling and firelighters however we generally advise against outdoor fires over summer. Kalimna also boasts a very popular outdoor shower and a 'loo with a view'. Yeranda is a 140 acre bush property with numerous walking tracks for guests who want to explore. A small pool on Nalleeghee Creek is a great place to cool off during the warmer months.
